Christy L. Westad received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Diego with a major in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. She graduated with departmental honors in 1996. While an undergraduate, Ms. Westad had the opportunity to work as an intern for United States Senator Dianne Feinstein at her field office in San Diego and also as an extern at the San Diego City Attorney's Office, Criminal Division.
She went on to attend Pepperdine University School of Law on the President's Honor's Scholarship and graduated cum laude in 2000. While at Pepperdine, she earned the Witkin Award for Excellence in Constitutional Law and was also on the Dean's List. In addition, Ms. Westad completed a judicial externship with the Hon. Robert W. Alberts, United States Bankruptcy Court in 1998, and was a certified law clerk at the Orange County District Attorney's Office in 1999.
Ms. Westad joined the firm as an associate in November, 2000 and is currently working on cases involving products liability, primarily in the pharmaceutical litigation division of the firm, as well as personal injury and toxic torts.
Ms. Westad is admitted to practice law in the states of California and Colorado and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Central District of California. She is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), Trial Lawyers for Public Justice (TLPJ), and the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA).
Christy was born and raised in Orange County and her essay entitled "My Life in Orange County" was placed in the Orange County Centennial Time Capsule commemorating the County's 100th Anniversary. She has had the great pleasure of volunteering with organizations serving children and teens including HeadStart, Break-the-Cycle, and as an attorney advisor for Orange County Peer Court.
